2. Soaring ceilings

The soaring roofline of the Flinders façade is carried throughout the home, with gorgeous raked ceilings to the kitchen, living, dining and home theatre. Creating an illusion of endless space, the vaulted ceilings make for a light, bright and airy interior despite its darker finishes.

‘The raked ceiling offers an unforgettable sense of drama to these key rooms,’ says Mitra.

‘Notice the timber-look cladding to the home theatre, dining and lounge room, designed to soften the living spaces and highlight the feature roofline even further.’

3. Hotel-oasis style master bedroom

Paired with the Flinders façade, the master suite at our Oslo 29 display home introduces a cosy window nook, perfect for that morning coffee.

Located at the front of the home, the master bedroom includes a huge walk-in-robe and spacious ensuite which is separated by a gorgeous barn door. Thanks to its proximity to the Flinders façade’s feature window, you’ll be delighted with a light-filled, tranquil space year-round.

‘I used an earthy cladded feature wall to really highlight the soaring ceilings, along with heavy oak furniture and bedhead to tie the room with the rest of the home,’ adds Mitra.

4. An outdoor living space that’s perfect for an Australian summer

You’ll be dreaming of weekend BBQs, thanks to this display home’s extended alfresco. Its dark and dense wooden deck is beautifully framed by designer landscaping and hedge work. ‘The recessed sliding doors leading from the living and dining area to the alfresco help to seamlessly bring the outdoor-in,’ says Mitra.

‘Imagine opening up those doors in summer and letting the afternoon breeze rustle gently through the house.’

5. Moody interiors set to inspire

Mitra has used the modern exterior of the Flinders façade as a launchpad for her edgy interior design.

‘I brought the darker colour palette of the Flinders façade inside, through darker tones in the Turbine Grey Caesarstone benchtops, matt grey tiles in the bathrooms, and heavy wooden furniture,’ says Mitra.

‘The lighter, natural timber flooring and wood grains in the cabinetry create relief amongst a mostly masculine concept.’

A prominent grey-green accent colour is used throughout the home’s artworks and soft furnishings. ‘This colour choice was inspired by the beautiful Polytec laminate in the shade ‘Oasis’, used in the kitchen cabinetry,’ says Mitra.
