Kasey Jacobs calls herself a ‘houseaholic.’
‘I am constantly on my phone looking at new ideas,’ Kasey laughs. ‘Sometimes I think I need some serious intervention!’
When Kasey and her husband Damian were planning their dream home in regional Victoria, they liked the styling of Boutique Homes’ Montauk and Riviera designs, but when they walked into the invitingly open-plan Marseille, ‘we instantly fell in love, it felt like home right away’ she says. ‘It was like no other home in the display village and the service we were provided was amazing.’
Working in the Home Loan industry, Kasey also knew what to look for when it came to building contracts. ‘A major factor in our decision was the inclusions Boutique provided,’ she says. ‘They were superior to other builders.’ The beautiful design of the Marseille and premium inclusions, along with fixed site costs, made the decision to build with Boutique an easy one.
The project has exercised Kasey’s creativity and she’s found encouragement in the online community of fellow Boutique home-builders. ‘Everyone is so lovely and kind and we all bounce ideas off one another. I have made some wonderful lifelong friends.’
A quick search of Boutique related hashtags such as #ourboutiquehome brings up endless Boutique customer-produced content with many documenting the various stages of their build-journey on Instagram and Facebook. Kasey encourages anyone who is looking to build or is already building to join the Boutique online community. ‘It gives you guidance on what to expect from others’ build journeys.’
For Kasey, Hampton’s style is about keeping things neutral. ‘Stick with your classic white, grey or cream tones for the kitchen cabinetry and paint colours, along with pops of colour through your soft furnishings,’ she says, adding: ‘Plantation shutters are also a wonderful addition to any Hamptons-styled home.‘
Kasey favours coral and shell accessories, pastel blue accents, and richly textured throw rugs and cushions while timber floorboards and furniture add warmth, creating a distinction between the darker-toned ‘classic Hamptons’ look and the lighter ‘coastal Hamptons’ style. ‘Subway tiles and marble features are a must,’ she says. ‘I would suggest choosing classic tapware for your home compared to modern fittings.’
