Overview
Every home will have a return air grille which serves as the intake point for air in a ducted system. Air from inside the building is drawn through the grille and into the ducts, where it is then directed to the indoor fan unit for conditioning. Once the air has been conditioned, it is delivered back to the various rooms in the building.
Subject to the model and system type, return air grilles may come equipped with filters that help to remove contaminants and improve indoor air quality. These filters can be changed periodically to ensure that they continue to function effectively and maintain the performance of the system. We recommend cleaning the air grille and filter regularly by simply using a soft bristle brush.
To ensure your heating & cooling system performs at optimal condition and maintains a service warranty, it’s advisable that you service your unit annually or as per the manufacturer’s guidelines. The unit also has an inbuilt monitoring system based on hours of use. If you notice an image of a spanner on the control panel, this is an indication that it’s now due for a service. Simply call the manufacturer and they’ll put you on to your local service provider and arrange a service.
