Cobbled streets, symmetrical proportions and the sloped roofs of the countryside. That was the vision board for the French Provincial façade, now available on selected floorplans in the Toorak, Grange, Parkville and Airlie home designs.
Though inspired by the detail and grandeur of early European architecture and culture, the French Provincial façade also perfectly suits the modern Australian streetscape.
‘We looked at examples in the market and saw an opportunity to offer a more modern, streamlined version of the French provincial style, for customers looking for something a bit more understated,’ explains Boutique Homes Senior Designer, Robert Nguyen.
‘We started with a symmetrical building, and then played with a variety of different styles of windows, ornamentation and roof forms to find what worked – all the while focusing on a streamlined aesthetic.’
Featuring fully rendered brick, the proportions of the modern French Provincial façade are stoic and grand, yet the look is softened by the delicacy of the Juliet balcony and mouldings.
‘We used simple colours – just one light render colour – allowing the form and decorative elements to do all the talking,’ adds Robert.
‘The dark doors, windows and roof contrast against the light render, creating a bold and modern look.’
Suited to knockdown rebuild customers wishing to create a larger double-storey home in the more established suburbs of Melbourne and Geelong, our French Provincial façade is now available on selected floorplans in the Toorak, Grange, Parkville and Airlie home designs.
