‘Everyone uses their laundry differently and, just like with your kitchen, it’s important you think about the layout and storage options that are right for you,’ says Boutique Homes Interior Designer, Bec Stephens.
‘Plus, because it’s a room you’ll most likely use daily, it also pays to make it a beautiful, easy-to-use space that flows with the rest of your home.’

1. Select your laundry’s interior style
Most people tend to use the style of their kitchen as the design base for the rest of their home (including the laundry) but ultimately it comes down to colour palette and tiling choices.
‘For consistency and flow throughout the home, keep your tapware, benches and base cabinetry in similar colours to your cooking hub,’ suggests Bec. ‘You can then change up key elements like introducing a different overhead cabinetry colour, open shelving or a feature splashback tile to add a unique design element to your laundry space.’
