Jess and Jack, a married couple of eight years, had a clear vision for themselves and their two boys: Kaiden, 7, and Hudson, 4. The young family were keen to find a spacious block of land to build a brand-new home, complete with a puppy and plenty of space for the kids to play.
‘We decided to sell our house in Bacchus Marsh during the pandemic and buy land in Ballan. We were very particular about what we wanted in our forever home, and building meant we could incorporate all the design features important to us,’ explains Jess.
‘Our first family home had no storage and a tiny kitchen. We wanted somewhere with a country feel and a larger block to suit our growing family, but that was still within easy reach of our workplaces and Kaiden’s school.’
Moving to Ballarat allowed the pair to lock in a sizeable block at an affordable price. With Jess and Jack looking for a practical floorplan that maximised the use of their block, they fell in love with the double-storey, four-bedroom and two-bathroom Airlie 38 with Manor façade.
‘The Airlie 38 floorplan ticked all of our boxes, particularly in terms of its kitchen layout, separate living areas, a garage that connects to the mudroom, spacious walk-in-robes in the kids’ bedrooms, and plenty of storage,’ explains Jess.
‘The Manor was one of our favourite designs from the very beginning. As soon as we saw it in person on a display home, we knew it was ‘The One.’ It’s such a beautiful and unique façade with lots of intricate detailing.’
